Captures a piece of New Zealand history that is not well known. The Christian Pacifist Society in New Zealand reached it's peak in the 1930's. Allan Handyside was a Methodist and one of nearly 800 conscientious objectors imprisoned for their beliefs. Handyside was held at Rangipo Prison for nearly four years, this is the story of the hardships and the friendships and the commitment to the peace movement that would last throughout his life.
